Grapes in Christmas

In Spain we have a tradition the last day of the year.
The twelve grapes is a tradition of Spanish origin and extended to other countries. It consists of eating 12 grapes, one for each chime at 12 pm on December 31st (New Year). The traditional site of the 12 bells in Spain is the Puerta del Sol (Madrid).
We watch the chimes on TV from that place.
Tradition says we'll have good luck if you end up eating the 12 grapes at the same time ringing the bell end.
Music and fireworks accompany the parties and social gatherings, common way in which the celebration takes place.
The most widespread custom champagne or cider toast after 12 strokes.
According to most theories it seems that it all started when, in 1909, growers harvested so many grapes, not knowing what to do over, they decided to distribute free among citizens 'inventing' their consumption on New Year bring fortune.
When I was a child,I find it almost impossible to reach the final.
