Business Hours
Published by Mary at 16:15
Due to the climate, geographical location and the number of hours of sunshine in Spain, the Spanish tend to get up later in the morning and stay up later at night than other Europeans.
Shops and businesses are open from 9:00 or 9:30 until 1:30 or 14:00. Businesses are closed and reopened at 17:00 to 20:00 normally, although increasingly used more continuous hours.
Many commercial establishments closed during the Saturday afternoon and all day Sunday, but the supermarkets have reversed this trend.
In summer tourist areas, business hours are usually extended until 22:00 or 23:00, seven days a week. The bars are usually open all day till late at night.
Nightlife in Spain is very busy, with clubs open at 3:00 or 4:00 in many cities.
What happen in your country?
Is it very different ?

Here in the USA, almost all businesses, such as stores and shops, are open seven days a week. When I was young, most stores were closed on Sundays, but now that is very rare. We also do not see stores being closed during the lunch period, although offices, such as for doctors, do often close for lunch Another interesting thingis that it used to be very difficult to buy alcohol on Sunday, but now it is very common, even in the grocery stores!

I miss they were open on Sunday. Sometimes it would be the day I could buy.
