Why when someone sneezes do we say Jesus?

The Egyptians and the Greeks believed that the sneezes were a divine warning. They were considered to be good if they were in the evening, bad if they were taking place in the mornings, and it was a terrible sign if someone was sneezing on having got up of the bed or of the table. Nothing good could augur to those who were sneezing for the left side, whereas to do it for the right it was considered to be favorable. The Greeks were in the habit of saying " live! " And " that Jupiter you preserves! " To those who were sneezing.   Romans were exclaiming " save! "

The first Christians changed Jupiter - the pagan god-, for the Christian, saying " Jesus! ". On the other hand, a continued sneeze announces generally the beginning of a disease.
